I have had a remarkable improvement in the design and construction of the houses we build since changing to I Want That Design. Previously I have used many different architects and designers and I have found them to be a challenge to work with; unreliable and lacking in the understanding of the processes required to design, obtain approval, complete engineering and finally build.

Usually, I provide a rough floor plan of what I have in mind and the land details. I Want That Design has been excellent in taking dreadful drawings from me and designing what have been very successful products. Where my designs don’t work they have developed alternate ideas which we have always adopted.

We have used the construction plans for marketing as they are so easy to read. I Want That Design has provided colour renders of the project as we have progressed which were very handy while the development was being constructed.

This is a frustrating industry as many in it have no comprehension of anything but the issues with which they deal. A successful designer must have intricate knowledge of every issue which needs to be addressed. I Want That Design has such knowledge and understanding of the other person’s point of view which is a rare asset in this industry.

I have found the quality of the work to be exceptional. The process they use to provide a comprehensive draft for the first plan is a great time saver. The fact that I Want That Design staff has such a comprehensive knowledge of the industry ensures the plans are complete and have provided information for all involved in the process.

I don’t recall anyone ever criticising the plans. There can be no better compliment than this as all involved are happy to criticise plans which are deficient in any way.

The turnaround times are excellent and a clear indication of time is given when the initial request is lodged. Even when the market was at its busiest the turnaround times were still very good. I have noticed that the turnaround time from the engineers is much faster with I Want That Design plans and there are far fewer queries.

Both the principals and the staff of I Want That Design are conscious of a successful business relationship being established and therefore ensure they have a customer for the long term. Response to emails is excellent averaging less than 24 hours to receive a response.

In general, I can say that my relationship with I Want That Design has been very successful. It has removed an aggravating part of my business which was dealing with totally unreliable and unpredictable architects and designers. Their attitude is to get the job done with a minimum of fuss and to that end have perfected their process to ensure engineers, councils and builders receive what they need the first time. The building industry is complex and sadly contains a flock of extremely uncooperative people. For me, I Want That Design has reduced the grief level I suffer considerably.

Pycon Homes & Constructions has been working with the I Want That Design team for almost a decade. We have always found the entire team to be reliable, professional, honest and extremely competent.

In the beginning we approached I Want That Design to undertake the project of preparing a completely new range of home designs including renders and marketing material. Almost 40 designs were completed and launched that resulted in an instant increase in home builds. We spent quite some time finding pictures of house designs we liked, room by room we found style features and layouts that appealed to us. We pulled all those individual element ideas together and wrote a text-based brief to accompany the pictures and sent them to I Want That Design. Within a very short space of time I Want That Design came back with a stunning layout that captured everything that we asked for.
I would say that we had a plan developed on first-draft that was 99% of what we are now living in, which is a testament to the IWTD on how intuitive and ultra-efficient they were in interpreting the brief.

We were looking for a forever-home and a home that would maximise the use of our half-acre block. Our favourite parts of the house are the open plan central meeting point or family zone in the middle of the house, and separate wings for the kids and adults for noise and relaxation separation.
With all living and bedrooms wrapped around the alfresco area, it feels like resort living with every major room having a garden and pool deck view. We have friends who live only ten minutes away come and stay over as a bit of a ‘holiday’, such is the homely, comfortable and resort-style feel of the property.
We certainly love our home which really is a sanctuary for us with such busy lives.
