Creative Director Lisa Yarker
My designs are inspired by my travels and being able to employ practical spaces that work and give a sense of belonging.
Gold Coast residential building designer Lisa Yarker looks for more timeless quality in her designs that she believes will not date.
She does not have a direct style though it's all unique with a range of influences that incorporates her Thai, Chinese cultural background as well as Turkish, Italian, Indian, French, Spanish & Japanese design influences.
It's about constantly looking at adapting & taking on influences and employing them in new ways.
To me a house is like an oil painting as a medium it's a series of layering effects until you get the desired effect/result. It requires patience and time for the layers to dry before proceeding. If an outsider was to have the opportunity to view an incomplete picture they would only see it as incomplete as only the artist truly sees the end result. Until it is sealed you don't have the right to comment. "It's a series of layers"
